I started my college education at New York University in New York City. At the time of my official acceptance, I had never set foot in the Big Apple. So, by request of my family and friends, I decided to use my web design and writing backgrounds to create a blog that would help me share my many “misadventures” with the world.
I began Misadventures in the Big Apple the summer before I left for school. My first post (My Aha Moment), got two views. One was my grandma. The other was my mother.
On August 22, 2014, I packed up and left my small hometown of twelve years (Howell, Michigan), and headed off to Manhattan.
Fate didn’t follow my lead. In April of 2015, NYU raised its estimated cost by thousands. I made my official decision to withdraw from the university, finished out the year, and moved back home.
You’ll meet a series of characters as you follow along. I have two wonderful parents, an older sister, a younger brother, and a best friend. Austin and I were married on September 30, 2017. These people were, and still are, my life. I hope you learn to love them as much as I do.
Since it’s beginning, Misadventures has earned over 60,000 views. Every view goes toward supporting the dreams of a girl who never imagined she could make it this far, and every response, email, and comment (no matter how short) means everything – even now.
Thanks again for visiting,
